I am marcc on the GMT Forum, the one who "bothers" you with the story of the engine that isn't going to be finished for the 21st... I finally came back form Normandy. I send you some pictures of the restarting of the engine on that fatidic day. THey aren't very pretty because I couldn't take the car out, it was too late. BU the engine did start on the 21st and the car went 5 meters ahead and 5 meters back! TOday, the damned dynamo that I had fixed two years ago just broke. I shan't be going to the New Year's party with her as I had promised some friends, because coming home in the night without any lights isn't a good idea... I attach a few pictures, and as soon as I've fixed the dynamo, I'll go take some prettier ones by the castle in my village. PS: a little history about the car. Two years ago on November 12th, I bought this 11B of 1952 with the wheel on the trunk. The car had been restored old style (no filler, just pewter, and glycero paint), the interior was good and original, but the engine had a problem, which enabled me to negotiate on the price. She is totally original with the gearbox and engine in "matching numbers" and without having been fiddled with. A "funny" fact, is whiel talking with the owner whom I had traced through the ad on internet (a lawyer with a certain reputation in my town), I discovered that we knew eachother at the time of the university (I'm in sciences) and especially that 22 years ago we had participated in the same rally, me with my student's 403 and with his Traction... the years have passed. At the time the car was showing its age with a very rusty trunk. Today, the body is beutiful ... and she is in my garage (next to the 403 and... the DS21). Etienne was selling his Traction with some regrets, triggered by his wife and the lack of space and time; to know that his car was going to a "friend" helped him overcome the sale and allowed us to negotiate in a climate on conviviality and trust.
